Ingame Roleplay Guidelines
These guidelines establish the standards for roleplay within Site-64. Following these principles ensures an immersive and enjoyable experience for all participants.
1. Character Authenticity
Maintain consistency with your character's established background, abilities, and personality. Characters should behave in ways that align with their role within the SCP Foundation hierarchy and their personal history. Avoid sudden or unexplained changes to your character's fundamental traits.
2. Realistic Interactions
Roleplay interactions should reflect realistic human behavior within the context of the SCP universe. Consider how real individuals would react in high-stress situations, professional environments, and hierarchical organizations. Maintain appropriate professional relationships between different personnel classifications.
3. Respect for Established Lore
All roleplay must respect and adhere to the established SCP Foundation lore and Site-64 specific canon. Familiarize yourself with relevant SCP articles, containment procedures, and Foundation protocols before incorporating them into your roleplay. When in doubt about a lore element, consult with Roleplay Moderation Team members.
4. Power Limitations
Characters should have reasonable limitations to their abilities, knowledge, and influence. Avoid creating characters who are invulnerable, omniscient, or capable of solving all problems without effort. Challenges and limitations create more engaging roleplay scenarios and allow for collaborative storytelling.
5. Consent in Roleplay
Obtain consent before involving another player's character in significant or potentially negative roleplay scenarios. This includes physical altercations, character injury, containment breaches affecting their area, or other major events that would impact their character's story. Communication is essential for collaborative roleplay.
6. Appropriate Content
While the SCP universe contains horror elements, all roleplay must remain appropriate for a general audience. Explicit sexual content, excessive gore, or other extreme themes are prohibited. Focus on the psychological and scientific aspects of the SCP Foundation rather than gratuitous content.
7. Metagaming Prevention
Avoid using out-of-character knowledge to influence in-character actions. Your character should only act on information they would reasonably have access to based on their clearance level, position, and personal experiences. This maintains the integrity of the roleplay environment and prevents unfair advantages.
8. Faction Protocols
Members of specific factions must adhere to their faction's established protocols, hierarchy, and objectives. Understand your faction's role within the broader Foundation structure and act accordingly. Insubordination or actions contrary to your faction's goals should have appropriate in-character consequences.
9. Conflict Resolution
In-character conflicts should be resolved through roleplay rather than out-of-character intervention whenever possible. However, if roleplay conflicts become problematic or uncomfortable, participants should address concerns with the Roleplay Moderation Team. The goal is to create engaging narrative tension without causing real discomfort.
10. Continuous Improvement
All roleplayers are encouraged to develop their characters over time, incorporating experiences and relationships into their character's growth. Be open to feedback from other players and moderators to enhance the quality of your roleplay and contribute positively to the Site-64 community.
Roleplay Support
The Roleplay Moderation Team is available to assist with questions, provide guidance on lore implementation, and help resolve any roleplay-related issues. Don't hesitate to reach out if you need clarification on these guidelines or assistance with your character development.
